In a study conducted by The Boeing Company (a major aircraft manufacturer in the U.S.A.) on human vibration research over a 10-year period, the researchers concluded there is a correlation between sinusoidal vibration and physical effects on the body. It is summarised as follows:

“Whether physiological or psychological, the question of possible beneficial effects of whole body vibration is deserving of more attention. Some areas for examination include the possibility of reduction of physical and mental fatigue, enhanced alertness, stimulating circulation, and improving tone of vital organs. Such effects might be especially beneficial to persons unable to participate in regular exercises.

In the man-machine environment people unknowingly are almost constantly experiencing vibration of varying characteristics and severity. It is not certain that the vibration does not affect their general physical and mental condition. And it is quite possible that vibration may serve a valuable function in adapting them to their environment in tomorrow’s advanced system.”

Though whole body vibration technology is relatively new to the general public, research evidence has documented that whole body vibration therapy can benefit the young, the elderly and those with a number of chronic diseases and mobility issues.
