WBV TECHNOLOGY

History
  • First vibration machine invented by J.H. Kellogg at the end of the nineteenth century
  • 1960’s – Germany discovered the benefits of whole body vibration training
  • 1970’s – Russia applied the whole body vibration training techniques for astronauts and Olympic athletes
  • 1989 – Whole body vibration training techniques spread from East Germany following the fall of the Berlin wall
  • 1999 – First whole body vibration machine commercially available
  • 2008 – Whole body vibration exercise machines are sold in over 100 countries around the world and is commonly used by physical therapists, professional athletes (i.e. soccer, basketball, baseball etc) and celebrities
Science
  • When the body detects vibration in the form of sinusoidal vibration (vibration in the shape of a sine wave) at specific frequencies, the musculoskeletal system reacts by resonat Bones are stimulated and trigger a Tonic Vibration Reflex (TVR) that activates the skin, tendons, muscle spindles and specifically nerve fibres that are connected to the spinal cord that makes nerves to contract to cause the body to perform “passive” exercise

  • In addition to generating sinusoidal vibration, Auvus’ whole body vibration machine is capable of generating tri-planar vibration in the X-, Y- and Z- axes or dimensions (known as 3-D vibrations or three-dimensional vibrations). These vibrations coincide with the natural movements of the body’s activities in daily life such as walking, running and jumping. When tri-planar sinusoidal vibrations are transmitted at specific frequencies and intensities (known as therapeutic vibrations), they maximise the body’s ability to absorb the vibrations to achieve maximum health benefits.
Types of Vibration Machines – Vertical and Oscillating
  • Vertical vibration machine platforms vibrate up and down.  Vertical vibration machines require very complex components and expensive to produce.  Leading therapists, athletes and celebrities use these types of machines to have a more intense and powerful workout to achieve maximum performance and quicker health benefits.
  • Oscillating machines where the platform vibrates on a pivotal point at its centre. Either end of the left and right sides of the vibration platform moves up and down alternately in an oscillating manner. The up and down motions apply to one foot as well as to one side of the pelvis at a time. This is different from the vertical vibration machine in which the same vibration applies uniformly to the body as a whole.
Benefits of regular use of Vertical Vibration Machines:
  • Improved muscle toning and strength
  • Improved flexibility, reflexes and mobility
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Improved coordination and posture
  • Reduce stress
  • Burn fat, lose weight and increase resting metabolism
  • Promote healing of joints and muscles
  • Maintain bone density and weight
  • Reduce cellulite
  • Promote lymphatic drainage and detoxification
  • Pre and Post training / exercise recovery
Other Benefits:
  • The vibration frequency of the vibration machine can be adjusted to maximise comfort and regular use of the machine can,
    • Pain relief
    • Improve circulation / energy flow and general health
    • Enhance the healing of joints, bones and muscle ailments
    • Support healing of non-viral internal ailments
    • Assist in improving mobility and recovery following strokes and physical injuries
